Saw this on Runner’s World & decided to put a link here. Such a great story.   A 52-inch, 62-pound, 8-year-old fourth grader, Reilly Johnson of Mill Valley, won the The 100th Running of the Dipsea by beating 68-year-old grandmother of four, Melody-Ann Schultz of Ross, to become the youngest runner ever to win the Dipsea.

As we get into fall, it’s important to remember that it’s getting dark earlier and earlier. Please wear reflective clothing!

Below The Knee has hosted a drop-off box for new & gently-used shoes, which we send to Soles 4 Souls. This weekend, September 17 – 19, we’re hosting a shoe drive. The Soles 4 Souls RV will be at the store on Sunday from Noon – 3PM, and they’ll donate 50 pairs of shoes on Sunday to a local charity.

Most of us have some new or gently-used shoes lying around that we don’t wear. Soles 4 Souls distributes these shoes in over 120 countries worldwide, including the U.S., at a rate of one pair of shoes every 7 seconds. Always free of charge.

Donate to Soles 4 Souls through the Below The Knee drop box, and you’ll receive a 10% merchandise discount, a Below The Knee t-shirt, and the knowledge that your shoes will be greatly appreciated.
