Many people say that the Asics GT-2000 series shoes are the perfect shoe for probably 80% of the population. That might be true- the 2000’s have been one of the best values in running shoes for years and have numerous features that make them hard to beat. This is a shoe that can be worn by neutral runners/walkers through moderate pronators and is one of our favorites to use for individuals suffering from foot issues such as plantar fasciitis.
This iteration, the GT-2000 5, is a bit different from the 2000 4’s but the difference is good, and it’s mostly in the uppers. The upper on the GT-2000 5 is seamless and has an enhanced midfoot area which provides room for the foot while holding the midfoot snug.
The GT-2000 5 has a 10mm heel-to-toe drop and weighs 8.9 oz (women’s) or 11 oz. (men’s). Standard features for this shoe includes DuoMax (to control pronation), a Fluid Ride midsole for exceptional bounce-back and cushioning. Heel Height: 22mm. Forefoot Height: 12mm.
