“Area stores will collect “gently worn” shoes starting Monday through Feb. 26.
The Kiddie Shoppe, 1640 Rollins Way, Suite 200, and Below the Knee, 6770 Veterans Parkway in Columbus, and Fun & Fanccy, in the Shoppes at Midtown, 3051 Frederick Road in Opelika, are among the stores joining a nation-wide shoe drive that will benefit the Soles4Souls shoe charity.
The charity is hoping to distribute 11 million shoes this year to people in need. It gives away a pair of shoes every seven seconds. Since 2005, Soles4Souls have given more than 12 million pairs of shoes.”
